Christian Bauer采用过渡时期的风格设计了Linotype Compendio，这多与1十七十八世纪的字体相关。其字母的外部轮廓是故意被制作的粗矿且不规则的，看起来很像印刷在劣质纸张上的旧金属字体。因此，Linotype Compendio的可读性降低了，这使得它仅能用在较短的文本或标题中，而正是这一特征让该设计看起来更加独特。
Christian Bauer designed Linotype Compendio in the Transitional style, commonly associated with typefaces of the 17th and 18th centuries. The outer contours of its letters are purposely raw and irregular, much like old metal type printed on low-quality paper. The legibility of the Linotype Compendio is thus reduced, making it necessary to use this font only for shorter texts or headlines, but it is exactly this characteristic that lends the design its distinctiveness.
